PalmIII PPRK SV203 Barebones Kit
by Acroname
|
Description: The Palm Pilot Robot Kit allows you to build a robot that can be controlled with your Palm III handheld. Originally designed by the Carnegie Mellion Robotics Lab the PPRK kit has been redesigned with permission from CMU to make it easy to assemble. This barebones kit for the Palm III provides all the pieces, but you need to download the instructions, modify the servos, glue the connnector, and wire the serial cable.
|
In putting together this kit, Acroname redesigned the chassis to allow assembly with a screwdriver instead of double-sided tape. In addition, this configuration allows the IR detectors to be positioned higher off the ground for fewer false readings. This bolt-together approach allows you to remove any or all of the parts of your kit for use in another design or easy repair.
This Acroname kit also includes a battery charger and standard NiMH AA cells. These cells can be purchased separately for backup power or used in other devices requiring AA batteries. This charger also can be used to charge AAA NiMH which are ideal for powering your Palm Device.
This kit uses a connector that is compatible with the Palm Professional and Palm III devices. Sorry, the Palm Pilot is not included and must be purchased separately.
